Many town residents were informed that milling and repaving our streets would start on April 29. As of May 3, the only things that appear to have happened are removing the curbs designated in most need of repair. That is my guess, since many curbs are cracked and crumbling but still left in place.
Two days ago signs went up stating no parking on the street which, according to the notice from the town, was to happen “one day prior to starting.” I looked up the construction company who state on their website, “Unequaled service. M.R. Tanner Construction builds roads by forging relationships. That means being honest with our clients and ourselves, treating people with professional courtesy and respect, and partnering with the organizations that hire us to meet their budgets and deadlines. As we construct each street, road and parking lot, our reputation is built upon providing our customers with the highest quality grading, asphalt paving, and roadwork construction services.”
I am waiting to be impressed and hope that the town worked out a contract for reduction in price if not completed on schedule.
