Raymond Garcia, age 47, a resident of Belen, N.M., unexpectedly passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. Raymond was born on Feb. 11, 1969 in Barstow, Calif.
Raymond worked for BNSF Railway for 27 years, currently as Assistant General Foreman, Belen Mechanical. He was also a US Air Force veteran.
On Feb. 25, 2004, Raymond married Kristeen in Fountain Hills. He was a gentle soul that had the biggest heart and smile. Raymond could fix anything with his hands. He loved his wife and children. He enjoyed camping, his dogs, and being in the pool. Raymond also enjoyed 80’s music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Tafoya Garcia and Leonor Chavez Garcia; and brother, Gene Garcia.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Kristeen; children, Katelyn Knell (Nathan), Andrew Garcia, Jakob Lawrence, Christopher Dykman-Lawrence and Nicholas Lawrence; siblings, Antonio Garcia (Mary Grace), Julian Garcia (Glenda), Joe Garcia (Josie), Beatrice Gabaldon (Delfin), Michael Garcia (AnnaBelle), Lawrence Garcia (Emma) and Ana Pudelek (Patrick).
Services were held on Friday, Jan. 20, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel beginning with a visitation followed by the funeral service. A reception followed at the Recreation Center in Belen.
Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Valencia County Animal Shelter.
