Ralph E. Craner

Ralph Edwin Craner, 82, of Fountain Hills, passed away on June 23, 2018, after a short illness. Ralph was born in Denver, Colo. on Dec. 22, 1935.

He was predeceased by his brother, George Harvey Craner, and his parents, Ralph S. Craner and Helen Hahn. He is survived by his wife, Martha; his son, Craig; his daughter, Cathy Killoran (Caley); his stepson, Steven Sheffield; two grandchildren, T. J. Bodwell and Jennifer Kistner; three great grandchildren, Keagan Bodwell, RyeLynn Kistner and Rick Kistner III; his sister, Bethana Peterson; and nieces, Phyllis Prater, Barbara Pilcher, Bonnie Logan, and Becky Miller.

Ralph graduated from South High and the University of Denver. He started work at Honeywell while still in college and retired from there 35 years later. He was very involved with ham radio and volunteered for years at the Ham Shack at the Arizona Science Center.

Ralph also was active with the Senior Services Board in Fountain Hills, the Computer Lab, and Four Peaks Rotary. Ralph enjoyed playing golf, sailing, and, in his younger years, skiing both on snow and water.

A memorial service will be held at Messinger Fountain Hills on Thursday, July 5, at 1 p.m.
