In response to the opinion letter submitted on racism 12/17/2014.
I find the author’s ability in comprehending racism deplorable, the inference that decisions from these grand juries were based more on race than the facts as presented is based on what? I dare him to walk a day in the shoes of those who protect and serve these communities.
The writer inferred as fact that the majority of whites are racist, submitting his “suggestion” as a hypothesis. Then inferring him sharing coffee with those of a different color gives him the moral high ground…I want to throw-up.

Mr. Schweers, racism runs in all directions, it is human behavior, your letter was inane, void of concepts, procedures or direction.
Eleanor Roosevelt wrote and I quote, “Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.”
I would recommend that future letters focus on positive ideas that assist in leading fellow community members in a direction focused on the humanity of the situation; too often letters are one- sided political commentaries, focused on dividing individuals.
They’re typically based on personal perceptions of a situation.
Please consider looking for common ground, introduce fresh concepts, and strive to improve this world with a constructive well thought out plan.
Our community is comprised of a thousand things, unfortunately some choose to see the million things we are not. Stop demeaning others, it doesn’t elevate your standing in the community.
Four simple rules to follow before submitting future letters:
• Is it the truth?
• Is it fair to all concerned?
• Will it build “good will, and better friendships”?
• Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Final thought…A lot of problems in this world would disappear if we talked to each other instead of about each other.
