R. Jay Palmer

R. Jay Palmer (Russell Jay) of Fountain Hills passed away quietly the morning of Sept. 14, 2014 with family by his side.

His death mirrored his life surrounded by family, stories, laughter and tears. RJ was 71, born Feb. 13, 1943 to Jane and Russ Palmer of Logansport, Ind.

RJ’s professional accomplishments were many, but his crowning legacy was one of laughter and love. RJ was a fiercely loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend. RJ was always quietly busy making the world a little brighter.

RJ is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bobbi (Roberta) Palmer; his mother, Jane (Mimi) Palmer; their daughter, Kim (Mark) Ziegler and children, Tyler, Bailey, Emmerika and Noah; son, Russ (Myrta) Palmer and children, Tessa and Ben.

He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Jacob Palmer on June 21, 2001.

A visitation will be held Thursday Sept. 18, at Messinger Mortuary 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd. Fountain Hills from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, Eckstein Center, in R. Jay’s name.
