The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on Thursday this week and will consider a special use permit for a cell tower.
The permit would allow T-Mobile to install a 72-foot faux palm antenna at 12031 Colony Drive.
Senior Planner Bob Rodgers states in his staff report that the tower lies within the 300-foot buffer from residential property, requiring the special use permit. Rodgers said the pole is also within fall range of some properties in the event the tower fail during a storm or other event.

The proposal also includes planting of real palms in the vicinity of the tower to mitigate the visual impact.
There will be a public hearing prior to commission discussion and consideration.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
