After nearly two years of work on an ordinance for regulating telecommunications infrastructure in Fountain Hills, the Planning and Zoning Commission has sent a version of the rules to the Town Council for consideration.
However, with a unanimous vote the commission members made it very clear they do not believe the ordinance in its present form is adequate.
The commission virtually ran out of time to do any more work. A 90-day window following the public hearing in May to send a recommendation to the council closes before the next regular commission meeting in August. They were unwilling to call a special meeting to consider additional changes discussed at the July 8 meeting.
