P&Z delays decision on Community Residences

Provides for re-inspection of properties

The Planning and Zoning Commission for Fountain Hills has postponed a discussion related to a Zoning Ordinance amendment that allows for the re-inspection of Community Residences for compliance with regulations.

Community Residences are those homes usually in a residential neighborhood that provide housing for multiple people in connection with sober living, assisted living or similar situations.

The proposed changes to the ordinance include “follow up inspections may be conducted upon a reasonable belief of non-compliance.” It also includes a provision to inspect for occupancy limits.
