The Planning and Zoning Commission will take up a request for a special use permit to allow a protective golf ball fence for a residence in the 16000 block of Monterey Drive.
The proposed fence would be 25 feet tall with a distance of about 300 feet from the forward most tee for the nearest hole on the golf course.
The resident has provided the town with evidence of damage to stucco and roof tiles from errant golf balls.

Staff indicates the request meets the criteria established in the Zoning Ordinance for a golf ball fence.
The commission is being asked to make a recommendation to the Town Council regarding whether to approve the permit.
The commission agenda also includes a proposed text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance related to landscape requirements.
The change would address requirements for installation and continued maintenance for landscaping within the front and street-side yards of developed lots.
A public hearing will be held regarding each of these items.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on Thursday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.
