Since I had the temerity to criticize the Obama haters, I have been characterized as a rude, insulting, misguided ideologue. I expected that, and Mindy Jones’ bellicose rant was boilerplate out of the Limbaugh Handbook of Hate. Why would I be willing to endure the hate bombs to be flung at me? My attitude has been shaped by a lifetime of observing your self-centered actions, such as:

1. A history of opposition to Social Security, Civil Rights, Medicare, voting rights, women’s rights, immigration reform, etc.

2. The Tea Party bloc in the House of Representatives has refused to compromise and created gridlock to the detriment of the country.

3. Starting with Newt Gingrich, you have shut down the government, at great cost, to secure your own selfish ends. This was repeated last year by the John Boehner-led House.

4. Denying a vote on nominees to the U.S. courts so as to deny Democrats any influence on legal matters.

5. Character assassination of liberal candidates for office at local, state and federal levels ala John Kerry.

6. Senate Bill 1062, which brought about nationwide criticism of Arizona for its innate bigotry.

7. The current Ryan budget, which guts social programs and gives tax breaks to the 1 percent and ignores the poor and middle class.

8. Jan Brewer shaking her finger in the face of Obama.

9. Putting Clarence Thomas, a sexual harasser, on the Supreme Court of the U.S.

10. Censuring John McCain for working with Democrats, not conservative enough.

11. Electing “leaders” of dubious background, starting with George W. Bush, whose collegiate record has been buried from the public. Mitt Romney, a corporate raider, who would not release his tax returns to the public. Yet you attack President Obama for his birth certificate, college transcript, etc.

I am a proud liberal, deal with it!
