When the Town Council meets on Tuesday, Oct. 17, it will be considering a cooperative purchase agreement to acquire a new ladder truck from Rosenbauer South Dakota, LLC.
The agreement calls for the cost not to exceed $975,000. The town maintains a vehicle replacement fund to cover such costs.
The 101-foot ladder truck will replace a 1998 American LaFrance vehicle. At the same meeting the council will consider donating the old ladder truck to the Texas A&M Forestry Service for use by the Port Aransas Fire Department to replace a unit damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
The council will also discuss and possibly provide direction to staff regarding the use of the access gate on Technology Drive at Saguaro Boulevard.
The council had asked staff to study the traffic use related to that intersection earlier this year. Staff will be presenting its study findings at this meeting.
The consent agenda for the meeting includes approval of an amendment to an existing agreement for design of a bus shelter. This agreement cost is $49,799.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Capt. Hank Brandimarte will present a semi-annual update to the council regarding law enforcement activity.
The Town Council meets on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.
