Posted

The community is invited to join in for a day of shopping at the upcoming Presby Pickins’ Flea Market on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church (FHPC), 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.

The coordinators of the market are eager to feature local children’s Author Debi Novotny who will hold a story time for children present at the market.

Along with a book reading, Novotny will engage children ages 3-8 in a stick puppet craft. The activities begin at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

Novotny has secured a dozen advanced copies of her soon-to-be-released title, “Beaker and Gonk,” and will have other popular books on hand for purchase.

Novotny will personalize and sign each copy purchased at the event.

Swette Ice Cream will serve coffee and sweet treats beginning at 8 a.m. and the Fountain Hills Food Cart will serve lunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. FX Entertainment DJ will also be on hand from 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. with upbeat shopping music.

Those interested in donating items to FHPC can drop them off at the front office, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those interested in

renting a booth space, tables and/or chairs can visit fhpresbyterian.info/fleamarket for reservations.

Community service hour opportunities are also available for high school students who can contact the Flea Market coordinators at 480-779-8115 or send an email to ppfleamarket@gmail.com to learn more.

“We look forward to a day of shopping, treats, and community spirit,” a press release said. “See you at Presby Pickins’ Market.”
