Pony Express rides into town

The Hashknife Pony Express with the Navajo County Sheriff's Office made its way down from Payson on Thursday to deliver mail to the Fountain Hills Post Office.

Eight of the riders made their way up Avenue of the Fountains from Saguaro Boulevard. The express riders will make their way into Scottsdale to the Post Office on Friday after camping overnight along the Verde River at Fort McDowell.

This is the 58th ride by the Hashknife Pony Express, carrying mail from Holbrook to Scottsdale. They have made the stop in Fountain Hills for about 20 years.
