Ginny is politics.

A few people have written letters stating that Ginny Dickey is very involved in our community, attends lots of activities and is just everywhere. Well, I haven’t seen her anywhere.

With over 900 volunteers helping our town, Ginny is not listed among them. For all of 2018, she couldn’t spare one hour to give to our town? Each time a volunteer helps, it allows the town to provide amenities it couldn’t normally afford. Is she a member of any service organization, the Kiwanis or the Rotary, or a local charity?

Ginny has not supported the business community. In 2013, “the council initiated an amendment that would allow businesses to use promotional banners without the requirement they be tied to outdoor activities or events…Councilwoman Ginny Dickey cast the single dissenting vote, but gave no reason during the meeting.” (The Fountain Hills Times; April 10, 2013) The business community asked for this simple change. Ginny said no.

Has Ginny ever helped out any veterans groups in town?

Some have written that she had been a volunteer with the Community Theater. She did volunteer her services while her sister, Val Stasik, was running the theater and it received close to $1 million during that time in town subsidies and repairs. Think we could have used that money for our roads?

Some people would like you to think that she’s more than politics. In fact, her life has been all politics. Elected to the school board and town council. Ran for state legislator and lost. Ran for mayor and lost. Even her past jobs were political. She was given a patronage job by Governor Napolitano, then taken away by Brewer.

We don’t need a lifelong politician for mayor. We need someone who truly cares. I’m voting for Cecil Yates.
