Plans

I read with interest the first installment of candidate Q&A. Everyone needs to be an informed voter!

My major takeaway from reading that article is that Cecil Yates is the only candidate with a plan to balance the town’s budget and maintain the quality of life for which we all moved here.

While the other candidates answered the question, no one seemed to have any sort of plan. A regional attraction? I thought that was the fountain. Make the town more attractive for businesses? Good idea, but how do you implement that?

I have lived in Fountain Hills since 1986, I have served as a director of the Chamber of Commerce, I have seen revenue ideas come and go over the decades and it is amazing that people are still proposing revenue sources that have proven to be ineffective over the years.

But Cecil has a plan. And, you know what, if you take out all the ‘politics’ of the situation and look at his plan, it appears to be a darn good one. It is well thought out and addresses our problems on several different levels.

I would like to see more of the candidates come up with plans instead of platitudes and political speak.
