Peaks Women plan service projects

Four Peaks Women’s Club members will meet at the home of Tina Duffy, 15717 E. Eagle Rock Drive, Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Upcoming projects for November and December will highlight the meeting.

Duffy, liaison for the Boys and Girls Club, will discuss the importance of the Christmas Angel Luncheon.

Jackie Kolwaite will be accepting checks for the club’s Angel Lunch, their signature event, to be held at FireRock Country Club on Dec. 1 at noon. Participating club mem-bers receive Christmas Angels from the Boys and Girls Club, McKee Foun-tain Hills branch, and buy gifts for children in need.

Greeting members at every meeting are Maria Aiello and Claire Padel-ford. Aiello makes sure that members have their name tags on so that they do not have to make a contribution to the club’s pink pig.

Padelford, on the other hand, sells 50/50 tickets so that one member goes home very happy with 50 percent of the proceeds while the other 50 percent remains with the club for their projects.

Arlie Denomme, a past president, is once again chairing the projects in December that are associ-ated with the River of Time Museum.

She will be soliciting volunteers for the Holiday Mart being held at the museum in early Decem-ber. Members may also donate items to the mart, which are tax deductible.

In addition to the mart, members will again vol-unteer to bring baked goods such as cookies, cakes and breads for the museum open house on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7.

Including November in her projects, Denomme has invited members to join museum members in the Thanksgiving Day Pa-rade. She notes that members can walk or ride in the horse-driven wag-on. Anyone interested in parade participation should contact her soon.

Club President Rita Havel reports that voting will take place for the 2012-13 by-law revisions.

Margaret Ziefert notes that the Thanksgiving craft for Home Delivered Meals will be held at her home on Nov. 14.

Catherine Stob, chair-person for Sojourner Cen-ter, reminds members to bring bedding donations to the November meeting.
