Embarrassing park benches. I would like to second Greg Amrheur’s letter to the editor on Feb. 15. Being new to Fountain Hills, I was excited to visit the Fountain Park with my relatives this winter season. We walked the park and my aunt needed to stop and rest. The bench closest to us was rusted through and unsafe for her to sit on, not knowing when she received her last tetanus shot.
Not only was this embarrassing for me, but should be embarrassing to this town, as the Fountain and park is one of the major attractions to this town. Money spent on replacing the benches must be a priority. There always seems to be funding for other projects but, when considering the benches, the Town Council is overlooking safety concerns of its residents.
