People who use Palisades should be aware of the condition of the center median and roadside. Our adopt-a-street program is not working. These advertisers only pick up the garbage when someone writes a letter. They love the advertising and provide nothing in return.
Palisades is the first entrance going east. What a lasting impression. Trash all the way from Shea to SunRidge Canyon. The northwest corner of Shea and Palisades used to be a sea of flowers until five years ago when a utility dug it all up. When finished, the flowers were never re-seeded. This section starting at Shea has a drip line system that is lying on top of the ground and doesn’t function. Do the mayor and staff have a clue of what desert landscaping should look like?

The mayor has no clue and seems not to care. If they were true Arizonans they would know what it should look like. No other medians in town look like this. Anyone knows to remove the trash plants and put in normal yard desert plants. When you get to the high school and turn up SunRidge, the median is maintained. Why there and not where everyone sees it?
Coming from out of state and winning an election unopposed is one thing, having the ability to run even a small Arizona town should be left to the local people who have lived in the desert. This is not for out-of-state inexperienced people. Drive around McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, Scottsdale Ranch; they have desert medians and none of them look like this mess. They are all manicured.
After the Great Fair, some Scottsdale friends who attended and entered on Palisades called and asked what was going on with the town and that street. They noticed the mess as soon as they left Shea. It’s obvious to everyone.
