The stormy weather that rumbled through the Valley Tuesday night brought generally modest amounts of rain to Fountain Hills with no reported significant damage.

Heavy rain fell to the west in the McDowell Mountains with 1.26-inches recorded at the Flood Control District monitoring station in Hesperus Wash near the Dixie Mine.

Closer to downtown there was just .04-inch collected at Fire Station #1 on Palisades Boulevard.

The remainder of the Flood Control District rain gauges in the area received between one-quarter and one-half inch.

The rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive received .70-inch of rain.

According to the National Weather Service, cloud cover today will likely limit the amount of storm activity in the Valley. However, the chances of stronger monsoon storms will return on Thursday.
