Now, it’s this simple: Our opponents want more money from your family budgets so they can spend it on the “town’s” budget and make it remain high. Maybe it’s time that you, and millions like you, remind them of a few simple facts. It’s your money not theirs. You earned it. They didn’t.
You have every right to keep a bigger share than you’ve been allowed to keep for a great many years now. When they insist we can’t reduce taxes and spending and balance the budget, too, one seven-word answer will do: “Yes, we can. And yes, we will.”
The above was written by President Ronald Reagan. I changed the word “federal” budget to “town’s.” We have already proven we can reduce spending and maintain all that we have on a smaller, balanced budget. Now we have to tell them, “yes, we will.” Vote no on the town property tax.

The thing to do is fix the problem, not throw money at it. Look at where that got our country; $20 trillion dollars in debt. Look at all the countries around the world. Most of them are broke.
Do you really believe what town officials have promised regarding how the tax will be spent? Remember, our sales tax was never to go up. Art Tolis broke his promise that he was against the tax. You think they will listen to a citizens committee, just like they listen to the Planning and Zoning Commission recommendation?
We have proven our town did just fine with 61 positions fewer. I believe one of the first things they will do is to re-fill most of those positions. We can always approve bonds to finish the roads and, if needed, add in money for infrastructure repairs. Once again, vote no.
