I’m the new General Manager of the U-Haul Moving and Storage of Fountain Hills.

I have had many customers come up to me in regards to the gate being closed off at Technology Dr and Saguaro Blvd. The customers think I have closed the gate and I have a key to unlock it.

Its color is similar to the paint we use at this location. I have at least two to three customers a week that call me asking me to open the gate. When I look outside I then notice, to my dismay, they are stuck at the gate on the other side of Technology Dr.

I then have to explain the fastest route is to continue south on Saguaro Blvd. and make three rights to get to our facility. This actually causes more traffic to go into the residential community because they have to travel further to get to my building.

I personally saw a 43 percent jump in retail sales when the gate was open for construction (that was for about a month).

I would like to see the gate open not only for ease of my customers to get access to their personal belongs and to make the stresses of moving a little easier to cope with, but also for the extra revenue for both my store and the community.
