Open meeting next week to discuss town revenue and more
Fountain Hills Town Councilman Art Tolis will host a non-formal, town hall-style meeting Thursday evening, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Community Center to discuss town revenue, including economic development and park improvement concepts.
Tolis said that this is not a Town Council meeting but, being open to the public, it is possible a quorum of members will be in attendance. However, due to the format, open meeting laws do not apply and no action can be taken during the meeting.

The evening’s planned topics include the upcoming revenue options meeting that the Town Council will host on Oct. 10. Tolis also aims to discuss the financial challenges facing Fountain Hills, several proposed solutions, as well as the Fountain Park lagoon concept. The latest design concept for the lagoon will also be presented at the meeting.
According to Tolis, the purpose of the meeting is not to promote or protest against the lagoon or any other project; it is intended to allow for the exchange of information and discussion about all of these topics important to the community. With the Council tackling these topics in an official capacity next Tuesday, Oct. 10, Tolis said he wanted to speak with and hear from residents in an communal setting.
“The goal is to engage with residents and encourage civil discourse,” Tolis said. “I want to hear from residents before the Council meeting, which will focus on several of these issues.”
