Why would Obama administration support toppling Hosni Mubarak of Egypt favoring Muslim Brotherhood Morsi? Uprising by Egyptian citizens replaced with Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Peace treaty between Israel and Egypt brokered by U.S. 40 years ago provided a bedrock of Middle East stability, every administration supported that peace except current administration who has neglected, scorned and sidelined both nations even though present Sisi’s exploits should make U.S. eager to work with him. Sisi recognized danger of political Islam, blaming religious leaders not countering militant Islam.
Sisi opposed Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas designated as terrorist group, Obama doesn’t. Sisi understands Israel’s security concerns, Obama doesn’t. Sisi defends freedom of maritime trade through Red Sea. Sisi promotes religious freedom within Egypt. Sisi supports Arab coalition fighting Islamic State beyond fighting militants in Sinai Peninsula, he’s against Islamic State in Libya and helping Saudi Arabia by defending its borders, yet U.S. had held back much-needed military aid.

When Muslim Brotherhood took power in 2012, American financial support for Egypt generously flowed. Obama now is undermining Sisi’s rule by recently hosting Muslim Brotherhood at the White and shuns Israel and Egypt by embracing a foe like Iran, who can’t be trusted.
Obama’s foreign policy decisions have weakened strategic positions of moderate Arab countries like Saudi Arabia and Gulf Nations making Iran plus other radical Islamist regimes emboldened, expanding influences in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon.
Moreover U.S. has offended, isolated and weakened Iran’s regional adversaries, irreparably damaged relationship with Israel making the only democratic Western-friendly nation in region more isolated and vulnerable than ever.
