Not Scottsdale

Why do people live in Fountain Hills? Many of the reasons include less traffic, less hectic, quieter, less people and lots of calm.

I wonder then, why the powers that be in the town strive to make Fountain Hills another Scottsdale? Get more people here, develop all of the land available. More retail. More traffic. More of everything that will make us a city as opposed to the beautiful town we presently are.

Living in Fountain Hills, I do not find it difficult to obtain anything I desire. We have enough retail, food and everything necessary to keep a home.

In addition, traffic, larger malls, super-supermarkets, more restaurants are only 20 minutes away. Isn’t it nice to get away from all of the hub-bub of the city? Isn’t that why we live here?

The only thing we lack is a movie theater – which again is 20 minutes away. But with Red Box and movies on TV, how often does one want to go to a movie theater with the volume ear blasting?

I also believe that many people shop on the Internet and do not go into the city at all to shop. I rarely do.

If the retailers are unhappy, why are they in Fountain Hills? Apparently they must do all right to remain, and we are happy that they do.

I moved out of Scottsdale for all of the above-mentioned reasons. Let’s not become what most people moved away from.
