Not dissuaded by summer heat, Bogey Boys in Fountain Hills continue teeing off

A scorching-hot summer doesn’t stop a Fountain Hills-based club, the Bogey Boys, from getting their golf fix in.

The 86-member golf club continues their year-round season during the hot summer months, playing their regular league rounds at Orange Tree Golf Course in Scottsdale on Mondays while their travel group rotates around different Valley courses every Wednesday.

“We have an opportunity to play the higher-end courses like We-Ko-Pa, the Boulders, Raven Longbow, various places around the valley,” Bogey Boys treasurer Jim Kidwell said. “During the summer, those rates are in the $50-$60 range, whereas during the winter they’re in the $250-$300 range. So it just gives us an opportunity to play different courses around the Valley that we probably wouldn’t be able to play.”
