Does anyone remember the last two times we elected a businessman for governor?
First was Evan Mecham, who promptly got into hot water over loans to his business with inauguration funds then led the charge against Martin Luther King Jr. Day and ended up being impeached for misuse of state funds.

Another “businessman” for governor?
Does anyone remember the last two times we elected a businessman for governor?
First was Evan Mecham, who promptly got into hot water over loans to his business with inauguration funds then led the charge against Martin Luther King Jr. Day and ended up being impeached for misuse of state funds.
Fife Symington resigned his second term in 1996 when convicted of fraud and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, verdict overturned because of a juror that refused to deliberate, but charges could be refiled.
Before that happened, then President Bill Clinton, who he had saved from drowning when they were college age, pardoned him.
Fife ran on the same platform that Doug Ducey is now. Eliminate the state income tax, hold schools accountable, growth will solve everything, special tax breaks. Seems Ducey may also have a checkered past in business.
We know how those two ended out. Have we learned anything or will the voters make the same mistake again?
