OPINION — Congratulation, Fountain Hills. We did it! We successfully, joyfully, musically and peacefully took part in a huge turnout critical of the current administration. Looking down the length of Sahuaro Boulevard, with flags streaming in the wind, gave a deep sense of optimism in these dark days.
There were many who agree with our position – even in this ROT climate. The vast majority of passing vehicles showed their support with honks and thumbs up. There were scattered disgruntled individuals who showed us their weak second fingers and soiled MAGA hats, but I’m sure they were even impressed by the number of us and our enthusiasm.
I overheard a MAGA supporter state that we were not all locals – people from Chandler took part. Can you believe it – Chandler residents in our precious town? How dare they?
