Sunset and Noon Kiwanis clubs are co-sponsoring a meeting at 5 p.m. next Thursday, March 16, at SunRidge Canyon, specifically geared toward involving a younger generation.

Club presidents Dori Wittrig of Sunset Kiwanis and Ken Brown of Noon Kiwanis encourage participants to create a fundraiser of their choice and a community-giving project to benefit local youth annually.

Kiwanis’ motto is “Serving the Children of the World.”

The new Kiwanis format is designed for those young and young at heart to enjoy the social connectedness of Kiwanis while contributing to their community.

Kiwanis Lite will not have a meeting format typical of most community service organizations. Kiwanis Lite will be what participants wish to make of it. One monthly meeting is anticipated in a social setting.

Membership in Kiwanis International will be necessary in order to facilitate tax-exempt activities and provide insurance. Membership fees range from $110 to $150 annually.

If interested in participating, contact Wittrig at 602-558-5901 or Brown at 480-268-3731.
