There will be a reception to honor outgoing council members as well as the new members beginning at 6 p.m. in the first floor rotunda at Town Hall.

Councilwoman Ginny Dickey and Councilman Tait Elkie are retiring from their service on the council. Dickey served two terms and Elkie one.

On the agenda for the council is consideration of expanding two part-time positions to full time. Those jobs are the economic development specialist and the tourism assistant.

The change would be effective as of Jan. 1, if approved by the council.

There is also a park attendant position that is to be reclassified as lead park attendant.

The resolution also approves the transfer of funds from the economic development fund to the tourism fund to partially pay for the change. It also amends the allocation of money from the excise tax for downtown strategy and economic development.

The council will take another step toward the Saguaro Boulevard reconstruction by considering bids for the bond sales and authorizing the issuance of the bonds.

The council will also consider cut and fill waivers for a proposed condominium project within the FireRock Country Club community.

The regular council session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall on Thursday, Dec. 4. The session is open to the public.
