Museum benefit brews up 'Wisconsin Fest'
Posted
A really fun party is planned and everyone is invited.
The L. Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum is again organizing WisconsinFest, a bash honoring Arizona residents and visitors who hail from Wisconsin.
It will be held Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Blvd.
Admission is free and the event is open to all.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed it as “Wisconsin Day in Fountain Hills” and Arizona Governor Jan Brewer issued a declaration welcoming all to the event.
The University of Wisconsin Alumni Association is also backing the event and is urging its members to attend.
New this year is a silent auction of made-in-Wisconsin items and memorabilia including a Packers football signed by the 2013 team, a signed Badgers basketball and over $500 of Harley-Davidson merchandise.
Also new will be cheddar cheese curds specially packaged and flown in from Wisconsin the day before.
The fest will feature Wisconsin-made Johnsonville brats, sauerkraut and Leinenkugel and Miller Lite beers. Beer will be just $2 for a 16-ounce cup. Soft drinks and water will also be sold.
A live band is on tap as are door prizes and drawings for Wisconsin-related items. In addition there will be a raffle that includes among other things four tickets plus a parking pass for a Diamondbacks/Brewers game, a $110 value.
People who e-mail their name and the number in their party planning to attend will be included in a special prize drawing. The e-mail address is: wisconsinfest@cox.net. Just put “Fest Drawing” in the subject line.
The River of Time Museum is a non-profit organization with exhibits, lectures and educational events that tell the history of the area from ancient to modern times.
It’s located next door to the Community Center, and guests of WisconsinFest are encouraged to tour the museum at no charge and visit its unique store. Any proceeds from the fest will benefit the museum and its community and educational initiatives.
