Mindy Jones

Mindy Ann Nelson Jones was born Aug. 25, 1952 in Guthrie, Okla. to Curtis J. (C. J.) Nelson and Cecelia (Celia) Ann Pickett Nelson. Her father helped start a girls’ softball league in Guthrie and from that fueled her love for softball and all sports.

She graduated from Guthrie High School in 1970 and Oklahoma State University in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration.

Mindy moved to Fountain Hills in 1978 and went back to college and pursued her degree in Accounting and Masters in Tax and Business at University of Phoenix and Golden Gate University. She was a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst. She had her own firm, Mindy Jones CPA, in which she handled many business valuations.

Mindy is survived by Joe DiNaso, her soul mate, of Fountain Hills; her daughter and her husband, Jenna and Ryan Hamilton of Mesa; her mother, Celia Nelson of Guthrie, Okla.; her sister and her husband, Christie and Paul Fincher of Guthrie, Okla.; her niece and her husband, Krista and Josh Smith of Coyle, Okla.; and two great nieces, Lakyn and Blakely Smith of Coyle, Okla.

Mindy was an avid animal lover and left behind her beloved French Bulldogs, Kane and Bittle, as well as her two cats, Kona and Paris.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.

Mindy passed away after a courageous 22 month battle with ovarian cancer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lone Star Dog Ranch, one of Mindy’s favorite dog rescues. All proceeds go towards rescuing puppy mill dogs, especially French Bulldogs and placing them in loving homes.
