The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery is kicking off the 2024 season with a new “Meet and Mingle” artist reception series on the first Wednesday of the month.
Beginning Wednesday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m., the community is invited to come rub shoulders with 11 artists showcasing a variety of mediums.
The established artists representing the gallery are Sandy Gatlin, Mike Buchheit, Margaret Fitch, Julie Gilbert, Helen Walker, Linda Lawrence, Vicki O’Connor, Leslie Kiefus, Rich Orbon and Elizabeth Tucker.
New to the gallery this year and featured artist for the evening is Carrie Godwin whose passion is watercolors.
“I love the magical blend of the pigments and water in my subjects which vary. I am very intrigued by color theory and that ties into my original background of fine art and commercial photography,” Godwin said.
“We are so happy to have Carrie join our gallery,” says Margaret Sullivan, gallery manager. “Her watercolors are simply delightful.”
The artists will prepare appetizers from the gallery cookbook and beverages are available at this casual event.
“This is your opportunity to meet the local talent in your hometown at a relaxed social mixer,” Sullivan added. “The artists will be happy to visit with you about their chosen artforms and their creative process, all while sampling their savory snacks. Gallery cookbooks will be raffled at the event.”
The gallery is located at 16858 E. Avenue of the Fountains and is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
