Crystal Bowl Meditation held every Friday

Virginia Long, a certified meditation and mindfulness and Yoga Nidra instructor, invites the community to discover the science, benefits and myths of meditation.

A free introductory class to Crystal Bowl Meditation is set for Friday, June 6, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Community Center (Course #3408).

In this experience, the sound and vibration of the singing bowls create a soothing, meditative state, according to a press release.

By listening to the sounds and tones, the vibrations work at a deep level to balance the mind, body, heart and soul into a place of harmony.

Most find this soothing, relaxing and refreshing, the release said. Chairs are provided and participants are invited to bring their own mats, props and blankets for lying on the floor.

Meditation and Yoga Nidra can have numerous benefits for individuals looking to reduce stress, improve focus and enhance their overall quality of life.

Many people comment on the quality of peace they feel after a session, feeling safe, connected and content.

According to the release, meditation and yoga reduce stress and anxiety and improve sleep and outlook on life.

Crystal Bowl Meditation is held every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Courses are held June 13—July 11 (Course #3302) and July 18—Aug. 15 (Course #3303). The cost is $50 for four sessions.

These classes are sponsored by the Town of Fountain Hills. Community Center membership is not required to attend. For more information and to register, call 480-816-5200 or visit fountainhillsaz.gov.
