Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public to solve a recent spate of criminal damage incidents.
Over the Christmas holiday deputies received reports of more than a dozen incidents in which someone apparently used a BB or pellet gun to shoot out windows in vehicles and a couple of homes.
When school returned to session this week School District officials reported similar damage to a window in the district office, and estimated $500 damage.
The deputy serving as school resource officer discovered that the lenses to three parking lot lights at the high school had also been damaged.
Sheriff’s Lt. John D’Amico said that although there is nothing conclusive to tie the incidents together, it would appear likely that the same person or people are responsible for the damage.
D’Amico is urging anyone who may know something or has heard about someone causing the damage to contact MCSO. He noted that the TEXT-A-TIP contact is a good way to pass along information to the Sheriff’s Office.
Use CRIMES (274637) and begin the text message with FH. The tips are completely anonymous. Not even the Sheriff’s Office can obtain information about who sent the text.
