The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man found deceased in a parking lot on Laser Drive early Wednesday morning as Tanner McLaws, 39, of Payson.
MCSO said the medical examiner has not determined a cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
Capt. Hank Brandimarte, MCSO commander for District 7 based in Fountain Hills, has said there was a second male subject in his early 40s being treated in connection with the incident, but he had no further information related to the second person.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man found deceased in a parking lot on Laser Drive early Wednesday morning as Tanner McLaws, 39, of Payson.
MCSO said the medical examiner has not determined a cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
Capt. Hank Brandimarte, MCSO commander for District 7 based in Fountain Hills, has said there was a second male subject in his early 40s being treated in connection with the incident, but he had no further information related to the second person.
“This incident is isolated and not a random event,” Brandimarte said. “There is no cause for concern to our community.”
