Senator John McCain was an authentic American hero. In this age of political venality, cowardice and mediocrity, John McCain’s example of decency serves as a beacon of hope to all Americans.
He worked across party lines and built strong friendships with members of Congress who did not share the same political philosophies. While I do not share his political philosophies, I admire his love for this country and his unyielding humanity, which will serve as a reminder to generations to come that decency can exist in America.
My heartfelt condolences are extended to his family who shared this great man with the world.
