I would like to thank Dr. Bill Myhr for his opinion piece in last week’s Fountain Hills Times concerning Proposition 205. His insightful comments were well articulated concerning the many dangers of recreational marijuana use.
With the plethora of misinformation disseminated by the proponents of this proposition, it is important to look at the facts surrounding this issue. Dr. Myhr did an excellent job of sifting through the hyperbole as he listed the dire facts and consequences of passing such a proposition.

A few more facts to consider:
In Colorado, Marijuana-related fatal car crashes have increased 62 percent since legalization and more than doubled in Washington State.
Newborns testing positive for marijuana are on the rise. In one hospital alone, half of newborn babies tested positive for marijuana!
Marijuana-related emergency room visits by visitors to the state doubled in the first year and are up 49 percent overall.
Are the hardships and tragedies of so many justified by the financial profits of a few? Of course not. Please vote “no” on proposition 205.
