A 33-year-old Mesa man who pleaded guilty to striking and killing a Scottsdale doctor along Shea Boulevard in Fountain Hills will spend 90 days in jail and five years of supervised probation for the incident.
Nicholas Linsk was sentenced Sept. 6 for the October 2012 accident that claimed the life of Dr. Marwan Maalouf.

Nicholas Linsk was sentenced Sept. 6 for the October 2012 accident that claimed the life of Dr. Marwan Maalouf.
Maalouf was bicycling westbound on Shea just east of the intersection with Palisades Boulevard when he was struck by Linsk’s pick-up truck. He was dead when he was found by deputies after a passerby reported seeing someone along the road.
A witness who saw Linsk inspecting his truck for damage near 130th Street and Shea Boulevard provided law enforcement with the license plate number that led to Linsk’s arrest.
In addition to the jail time and probation, Linsk will serve 500 hours of community service and pay $18,000 in restitution.
