Man in critical condition following Saturday shooting
A man is in critical condition following a drive-by shooting in Fountain Hills this past Saturday, May 28, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report, the shooting occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday near the corner of Saguaro and Grande Boulevards.
The victim is reported to be 23-year-old Sydney Van, who suffered a single gunshot to the abdomen before calling for emergency assistance.

A man is in critical condition following a drive-by shooting in Fountain Hills this past Saturday, May 28, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report, the shooting occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday near the corner of Saguaro and Grande Boulevards.
The victim is reported to be 23-year-old Sydney Van, who suffered a single gunshot to the abdomen before calling for emergency assistance.
Van was taken to HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center, where he underwent surgery on Sunday, May 29. No additional updates on his condition were available as of press time.
Deputies are reporting that the suspected shooter was driving a red Chrysler 200 that headed north on Saguaro Boulevard following the incident.
