Magnificent, awesome, miraculous, and inspirational are only a few of the words that came to my mind as I watched the predawn spectacle of a thunderstorm. All was silent and peaceful looking east as the sky became lighter and the dark thunder clouds became visible.
Suddenly, without warning, streaks of lightning jumped from clouds to earth followed by ear splitting crashes of thunder. Rain soon began to fall, and the view was enhanced by a screen of falling water. It was an emotional and religious experience for me the morning after Labor Day, and I write of it in order to share it with others.

The true miracle is that my life continues with this arrival of a new day. Every day is the first day of the rest of my life. I intend to celebrate and enjoy each one as if it were the last one. How could I not? My days each begin in the predawn, which gives me the best insight into the magnificence of that life.
I commend and respect the religions of others, but this is at the core of mine. The cosmos extending outward to an expanding Infinity, and inward beyond the limits of electron microscopy require an acceptance of Life itself as the Ultimate Truth. In the predawn I enjoy and celebrate my life.
