After Oct. 9, mail-in ballots will start appearing in our mailboxes. Besides the federal election, Fountain Hills residents will be asked to start at the bottom of the ballot. Why? Because it is at the bottom of this two-page ballot where you can vote for Fountain Hills mayor and councilmembers.
Having trouble deciding about mayor? For me it is difficult to imagine our Town Council without Ginny Dickey continuing as our mayor. Given the many improvements in the past six years under her leadership, why would we even consider a change in leadership now? Given the terrible divide that seems to be infecting our town, why take the chance on losing her intelligence, wisdom and experience handling difficult issues?
The connections she has established throughout the Valley on behalf of our town are wide-ranging. If you have attended her January “State of the Town” addresses, you have seen her profile the amazing staff that keeps things moving. You have witnessed how she has managed to stay within budget year after year with only state and sales tax revenue to pay our expenses.
We need stability, not change. We need a balanced council led by an experienced mayor who can work with both sides. So, jump off the fence and join me in voting for Ginny Dickey for Fountain Hills mayor for another two years!
