The two recent Supreme Court decisions concerning same sex marriage and the Affordable Care Act have educed some not so clever vignettes about the country being headed in the wrong direction, ad nauseum.
These decisions do not affect me personally and I suspect not most of us. Life will go on as before.
However, those who have suffered discrimination all their lives because of sexual orientation and those whose income prevented them from purchasing health insurance certainly will be affected for the better. Our country is on the right track!

Not so long ago, women could not vote, African Americans were bought and sold as property. Thankfully those days are behind us. We still have a long way ahead in both areas. I did not agree with “Gore v Bush” or “Citizens United” decisions but accepted them as the law of the land.
I once had an employee enter my office and close the door. He asked if he could talk to me. I assented. He told me he was gay. I asked what he wanted me to do. He said he wanted my support and to treat him like everyone else. I told him there would be no problem. He has a brilliant mind and went on to a successful career and I was instrumental in his so doing.
You may not care for what I say or believe, that’s all right. I certainly do not care for what you say or believe. Accept reality. Move on.
