Alan Cruikshank’s lasting editorial legacy was letters to The Fountain Hills Times. It was the Twitter of the early 2000s, where the town square was differing opinions about topics of the day.

I had more than a few letters published offering opinions about local politicians and law enforcement officials. Alan published every one of them, even under pressure from those politicos who didn’t like their names being dragged through the self-deserved mud.

That took bravery. Alan was a brave man and this world is lessened by his passing.
