Independent Newsmedia reached out to the candidates seeking office in the Arizona Legislature to respond to questions about statewide issues. Of the four candidates that will be on the ballot, only incumbent Rep. Alexander Kolodin responded to the questions.
For the fourth week the question presented is: Does Arizona have enough water for the future population and economic vitality? With wildfires consuming more and more natural resources every year, does the state have the resources and programs necessary to curb the destruction of deserts and forests? What else can be done by the legislature?
Kolodin responded, “One of the things that we can do is better support our fire districts. An accounting error by Maricopa County led to a significant drain on the fire services in our district, and I will continue to attempt to hold counties responsible for the financial consequences of their mistakes.”
