The ALA Girls State program is a week-long educational experience for young women to learn the process of state government in preparation for their future roles as responsible adult citizens.

Former attendees have experienced a deeper love of country, patriotic pride and it looks great on their resume.

The auxiliary is currently seeking two young ladies who are juniors at Fountain Hills High School and would like to participate in this hands-on experience.

Other activities at Girls State foster fellowship and creative expression in reporting, public speaking, debate, singing, talent shows, group devotions, patriotic ceremonies and mock court system.

Applications are available from guidance counselor Nancy Lorenz at the Fountain Hills High School and must be completed no later than March 1.
