Maricopa County Sheriff’s detectives investigated an assault on a woman living in the Verde Foothills area that left her in critical condition.

Deputies were called on Friday, Nov. 28, after the woman’s husband found her unresponsive around mid-day. He told deputies his wife had had gotten into an argument with her daughter Thanksgiving night and the mother was pushed to the floor.

The husband said the mother and daughter were on the patio arguing when he went out to settle them down. They then went into the kitchen area where the daughter hit or pushed her mother knocking her to the floor.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s detectives investigated an assault on a woman living in the Verde Foothills area that left her in critical condition.

Deputies were called on Friday, Nov. 28, after the woman’s husband found her unresponsive around mid-day. He told deputies his wife had had gotten into an argument with her daughter Thanksgiving night and the mother was pushed to the floor.

The husband said the mother and daughter were on the patio arguing when he went out to settle them down. They then went into the kitchen area where the daughter hit or pushed her mother knocking her to the floor.

When she fell the woman hit her head on the floor, but the husband said he did not believe she had lost consciousness.

The woman went to bed following the incident and the daughter left. After the report by the husband the next day the woman was taken to the hospital where she required surgery and was reported in critical condition.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 27, deputies arrested two Fountain Hills men for shoplifting at the Fountain Hills Safeway store. The two were detained by store personnel after they were observed concealing merchandise valued at $314.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 27, personnel at Paul’s Ace Hardware reported the theft of tools valued at $3,000. The theft took place between January and September this year and managers received a tip that a former employee was responsible.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 27, a man was struck by a red pickup truck in the parking lot of a Fountain Hills shopping center. The man was knocked down and taken to the hospital for evaluation. The driver of the truck left the scene.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 27, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested on five counts of aggravated DUI. She drove to a residence to meet with a Sheriff’s deputy regarding a civil matter. She had been drinking and her 11-year-old son blew into the ignition interlock device placed on her vehicle. The woman was slightly injured when resisting arrest.

*On Friday, Nov. 29, deputies received reports that plumbing backflow devices had been stolen from two separate properties in the 16000 block of Laser Drive. Cost of replacement for each is estimated at about $1,000.

*On Sunday, Dec. 1, deputies responded to a reported fight between a mother and daughter in the 14000 block of Ashbrook Drive. Neither party wished to press charges against the other.

*On Saturday, Nov. 30, a resident in the 28000 block of 148th Street reported items stolen from a horse trailer/camper. A television, two saddles and other items with a total value of $11,000 were reported missing.

*On Saturday, Nov. 30, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for assaulting her husband at a residence in the 17000 block of Parlin Drive. The two had been out drinking and got into an argument when she struck him in the face.

*On Saturday, Nov. 30, deputies arrested three Tempe residents on drug charges in Fountain Hills. Responding to a report of suspicious people in a parking lot near Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards, deputies located two men and a woman. One man was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. The second man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen bicycle. The woman was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of marijuana.

*On Monday, Dec. 2, deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence fight in the 31000 block of N. 154th Way in an unincorporated county area. A man, age 21, was arrested for allegedly choking his step-father.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 26, deputies received a report that a Fountain Hills man, age 34, employed at the Safeway store, was making threats and yelling profanities at customers, and then left the area. The man was taken into custody at his home and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Charges are being submitted to the town prosecutor at the request of the store.

*On Monday, Nov. 18, the manager for Rio Verde Utilities reported that someone broke into their waste water treatment facility and stole copper and aluminum with a total value of $1,500.

*On Sunday, Dec. 1, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen her cell phone from the counter at the restaurant where she works. A surveillance video showed an unidentified man picking up the phone as he walked past.

*On Monday, Dec. 2, deputies received a report that someone had stolen tools from a utility trailer parked in the 16000 block of Laser Drive.

*On Tuesday, Dec. 3, a Fountain Hills man reported someone stole a laptop computer valued at $2,200 from his residence in the 15000 block of Sage Drive.

*On Friday, Nov. 29, a 17-year-old male juvenile was cited for shoplifting a sandwich valued at $3.99 from the Fountain Hills Safeway store.

*On Thursday, Dec. 5, a Fort McDowell man was injured in an ATV accident at Fort McDowell. The man, found walking with his eight-year-old son a short distance from the accident scene, was taken to the hospital. The son, who was not injured, was taken home.

*On Friday, Dec. 6, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for excessive speed on Fountain Hills Boulevard near Pinto Drive. The man was allegedly traveling 62 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour. He was also cited for no proof of insurance.

*On Friday, Dec. 6, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he caused a disturbance at a residence in the 14000 block of Winston Lane.

*On Saturday, Dec. 7, the passenger in a vehicle involved in a collision on Saguaro Boulevard was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver was unhurt but cited for speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to control his vehicle. The vehicle collided with a tree in the median near Panorama Drive.

*On Saturday, Dec. 7, a Fountain Hills woman reported her debit and cretic cards were taken from her vehicle while she left her vehicle to walk a short distance away at a car wash in the 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd.

*On Sunday, Dec. 8, deputies arrested an unknown woman for disorderly conduct after she refused to leave the men’s restroom at a restaurant in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains. The woman refused to give her name and cooperate with deputies.

*On Sunday, Dec. 8, a man was not hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Palisades Boulevard near Palomino Boulevard. The driver told deputies he fell asleep and crossed over the median from the northbound to southbound lanes.
