Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received a report from a Fountain Hills man that he had been assaulted in the parking lot of a bar on Thursday, March 13.

The man said he was inside the bar when he was told that someone wanted to see him outside. He went outside to meet the suspect who was identified as a childhood friend he had not seen in years.

The two got into an argument over the victim’s motorcycle and the suspect allegedly got the victim on the ground and attempted to choke him.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received a report from a Fountain Hills man that he had been assaulted in the parking lot of a bar on Thursday, March 13.

The man said he was inside the bar when he was told that someone wanted to see him outside. He went outside to meet the suspect who was identified as a childhood friend he had not seen in years.

The two got into an argument over the victim’s motorcycle and the suspect allegedly got the victim on the ground and attempted to choke him.

The victim was able to break away and rode home before calling police. The suspect had left the scene and was not immediately located.

*On Saturday, March 22, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Boulder Drive near Tepee Drive. The deputy observed the woman fail to stop for the stop sign at the intersection and made the traffic stop and found her to be under the influence.

*On Thursday, March 27, a Fountain Hills man was arrested following an altercation with a neighbor at a residence in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard. The two got into an argument over noise and the suspect allegedly pushed the victim.

*On Friday, March 28, a Fountain Hills woman was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. A witness reported seeing a vehicle leaving a parking lot on Avenue of the Fountains near Palisades and striking a sign in the median. The witness provided a vehicle description and license plate number. The driver told deputies she did not know she needed to stop after hitting the sign.

*On Thursday, March 27, a resident of the 16000 block of Westby Drive reported someone had entered his home and took two handguns, a rifle and a shotgun.

*On Friday, March 28, a Fountain Hills man reported receiving a letter from the IRS telling him that a woman had attempted to file a fraudulent tax return using his identification.

*On Thursday, March 20, a woman reported someone used the identity of her 14-year-old son in order to file a fraudulent income tax return.

*On Thursday, April 3, two Fountain Hills women were arrested and cited for disorderly conduct after they were involved in a fight at a residence in the 17000 block of Cayuga Lane. Deputies had responded to several calls to the residence over a couple of days.

*On Thursday, April 3, a resident near 152nd Street and Rio Verde Drive reported their 2007 Toyota Cruiser had been stolen.

*On Friday, April 4, deputies investigated a vehicle accident on Forest Road at McDowell Mountain Road in Rio Verde. A motorcyclist traveling east on Forest Road laid down his bike after traffic stopped in front of him. He was taken to the hospital for observation.

*On Tuesday, April 1, a resident of the 17000 block of Rockwood Drive reported someone broke a window in their garage door.

*On Saturday, April 5, deputies were called to the Bashas’ store in Fountain Hills regarding a juvenile female attempting to shoplift alcohol from the store. She broke away from a store employee and fled without the liquor, but deputies traced her vehicle to her parents’ residence.

*On Sunday, April 6, deputies received a report that someone had punctured the tires of a vehicle parked near 144th Street and Aloe Vera in the Rio Verde Foothills area. Damage is estimated at $2,800. This in an ongoing issue in the area.

*On Monday, April 7, a Cave Creek woman was arrested on drug possession charges. Deputies responded to a request from a postal inspector who was interviewing the woman on an unrelated matter when she was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

*On Monday, April 7, deputies received a report that someone had stolen a security camera on a gate in the 14000 block of Windstone Trail in the Rio Verde Foothills area.

*On Monday, April 7, deputies investigated a vehicle accident in which a vehicle traveling south on Saguaro Boulevard was struck by a vehicle crossing east to west at La Montana Drive.

*On Wednesday, April 8, deputies were called to a collision on Shea Boulevard at Technology Drive. An eastbound motorist traveling through the intersection was struck by a vehicle making a left turn from Shea onto Technology. The eastbound vehicle went off the roadway and came to rest about 500-feet east along the driveway into the shopping center.

*On Tuesday, April 8, a woman reported someone had stolen checks from her and attempted to cash them.

*On Wednesday, April 9, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for criminal damage domestic violence after he allegedly punched holes in the wall at his father’s residence in the 15000 block of Tumbleweed Drive.

* On Thursday, March 13, a Fountain Hills man, age 76, reported he was assaulted by his 72-year-old wife. He said she hit him and then pushed him into the rose bushes. The woman was not immediately located. Charges have been submitted to the town prosecutor.

*On Friday, April 11, deputies were called to a vehicle accident on private property in the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard. A woman had pulled into the Walgreen’s parking lot and drove her vehicle onto the sidewalk striking a sign.
