A Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Mesa man, age 20, on drug-related charges Thursday, May 29.

The deputy was on patrol around 8:20 p.m. when he stopped to investigate a parked car along Panorama Drive near Colony Drive.

The vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman who told the deputy they were just spending time together.

A Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Mesa man, age 20, on drug-related charges Thursday, May 29.

The deputy was on patrol around 8:20 p.m. when he stopped to investigate a parked car along Panorama Drive near Colony Drive.

The vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman who told the deputy they were just spending time together.

The deputy found that the man was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for failure to appear on charges of drug possession. In placing the man under arrest the deputy discovered he was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

*On Tuesday, May 20, a resident of the 14000 block of Sherwood Drive reported someone had broken a bedroom window at their residence. The suspects had apparently entered the residence, but nothing was found to be missing.

*On Wednesday, May 21, a Fountain Hills resident reported that his son, age 13, had been drinking soda through his own dirty sock while participating in activities with a local church youth group. Deputies found that the youth had voluntarily participated in the activity and no laws were broken. Church officials apologized for the incident and stated they would be re-evaluating its youth activities.

*On Thursday, May 22, a resident of the 16000 block of Bobwhite Way in Maricopa County reported excessive noise from motorcycles on an adjacent property. There has been an ongoing series of complaints related to a motocross track on private property in the area. There was no activity on the track while deputies were there.

*On Saturday, May 24, a Fountain Hills man and his girlfriend were both arrested on domestic violence assault and disorderly conduct charges. The two had gotten into a verbal argument at a residence in the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive related to his drinking and her wanting him to leave.

*On Saturday, May 24, a Fort McDowell man was arrested after he was found in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia at a Fountain Hills hotel.

*On Sunday, May 25, the parking lot at the Fountain Hills Safeway store was flooded after a water main break.

*On Monday, May 26, a Fountain Hills woman reported she felt threatened by comments made by a neighbor at an apartment complex. The woman said the neighbor made comments that were threatening to her after she had left a laundry room door open.

*On Tuesday, May 27, deputies received a report from the Target store that a female subject had shoplifted merchandise valued at $140.

*On Friday, May 23, deputies on patrol came across a single vehicle collision on Sunridge Drive near Sundown Drive. They found a severely damaged vehicle in the median that had traveled about 200 feet through the median causing extensive damage to landscape material. The driver had left the scene but was located a short distance away and was treated by fire department paramedics for injuries in the accident.

*On Thursday, May 22, deputies received a report from a Town of Fountain Hills employee that someone had damaged a sink in a bathroom at Four Peaks Park.

*On Thursday, May 29, deputies received a report from the Fountain Hills Target store that three suspects, two male and one female, had purchased merchandise valued at $531 and paid with $560 in counterfeit $20 bills. Deputies notified surrounding police agencies with a description of the suspects and the U.S. Secret Service.

*On Saturday, May 31, deputies received a report of a broken gate lock on a restroom building at Desert Vista Park. No other damage was reported at the facility.

*On Sunday, June 1, a deputy stopped a Phoenix man for speeding on Shea Boulevard. He was traveling 65 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The man had no Arizona driver license. He was cited and released and the vehicle was towed.
