A Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy was flagged down by a Fountain Hills woman Friday morning, Oct. 31, and she reported her mother had walked away from their home and she is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.
The daughter had just brought her mother from Colorado and so she is not familiar with the town.
Deputies circulated a description of the woman and she was located soon after in the area of Saguaro Boulevard and Parkview Avenue.

A Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy was flagged down by a Fountain Hills woman Friday morning, Oct. 31, and she reported her mother had walked away from their home and she is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.
The daughter had just brought her mother from Colorado and so she is not familiar with the town.
Deputies circulated a description of the woman and she was located soon after in the area of Saguaro Boulevard and Parkview Avenue.
Deputies brought the woman back to her daughter’s home and paramedics were called for a medical evaluation.
*On Saturday, Oct. 25, deputies were called to a reported verbal altercation between a couple in the 14000 block of Skinner Drive in Maricopa County.
*On Monday, Oct. 27, deputies received a report regarding a verbal altercation between a man and his estranged wife’s father. The two were arguing over the woman leaving home and taking her vehicle with her. Deputies determined that the vehicle was registered to the wife and she could take it.
*On Wednesday, Oct. 29, deputies reported a minor two-vehicle collision on private property in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard. Two drivers were backing out of opposite parking slots when they backed into one another.
*On Thursday, Oct. 16, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for theft of a gold ring belonging to his girlfriend.
*On Friday, Oct. 31, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision at Avenue of the Fountains and La Montana Drive. A driver heading north through the intersection applied his brakes suddenly when a group of people unexpectedly crossed the street in front of him. A driver behind him was unable to stop and struck the front vehicle.
*On Friday, Oct. 31, deputies received a report of a bicycle valued at $300 stolen from near the basketball courts in Golden Eagle Park.
*On Saturday, Nov. 1, a Chandler man was cited for criminal speed traveling 76 miles per hour on McDowell Mountain Road where the speed limit is 45.
*On Saturday, Nov. 1, deputies were called to the 14000 block of Ibsen Drive for a man trespassing at a residence and refusing to leave. The man allegedly struck the woman living at the residence after she asked him to leave and he refused. Deputies filed a complaint against the suspect with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for criminal trespassing and domestic violence assault.
*On Saturday, Nov. 1, a resident of the 16000 block of Bainbridge Drive reported someone had attempted to break into his home. He found someone had pried at a rear sliding glass door damaging the door frame and causing about $1,000 damage.
*On Saturday, Nov. 1, just before midnight a deputy responded to a report of a possible impaired driver near Shea Boulevard and Monterey Drive. The report had the driver running a red light, nearly striking other motorists and striking a street sign on Shea. A deputy contacted a man seen leaving a damaged vehicle parked in a parking lot near the intersection. He determined the man had been drinking and a witness reported seeing the man leave the vehicle from the driver’s side. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
*On Sunday, Nov. 2, deputies cited a Phoenix man for excessive criminal speed on McDowell Mountain Road north of Fountain Hills. Deputies reported the man was traveling 71 miles per hour where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour.
