The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has received several reports in recent weeks regarding suspicious activity and burglaries in the SunRidge Canyon area.

MCSO Capt. Dave Letourneau said deputies and detectives are following up on burglary reports. However, he said in some instances reports of suspicious activity have been delayed or only reported on Facebook discussion.

Residents have reported people knocking on doors to solicit various items and in some cases residents say they are aggressive in their approach. In one instance a woman reported she was backing out of her driveway when she saw a man riding away from her front door on a bicycle.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has received several reports in recent weeks regarding suspicious activity and burglaries in the SunRidge Canyon area.

MCSO Capt. Dave Letourneau said deputies and detectives are following up on burglary reports. However, he said in some instances reports of suspicious activity have been delayed or only reported on Facebook discussion.

Residents have reported people knocking on doors to solicit various items and in some cases residents say they are aggressive in their approach. In one instance a woman reported she was backing out of her driveway when she saw a man riding away from her front door on a bicycle.

Letourneau said these situations should be reported to MCSO immediately.

“Even if you wait an hour we will have no chance of finding them,” Letourneau said.

With an immediate call deputies may still be able to find the individual in the neighborhood.

*On Monday, Feb. 2, a resident of the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive reported someone had stolen the license plate from his vehicle and let the air out of one of his tires.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 3, deputies made several traffic stops of people exceeding the speed limit on Shea Boulevard in the construction zone where the speed limit is 25 miles per hour. A Phoenix woman was found to be traveling 58 miles per hour and a second driver from California was traveling 60 miles per hour. A third driver, a Fountain Hills man, was found to be driving with a suspended license and he was arrested.

*On Tuesday, Feb. 3, a Tucson man called deputies to report his vehicle had been damaged while going through a Fountain Hills car wash to have paint removed. Deputies found the report was unfounded and no crime had occurred.

*On Wednesday, Feb. 4, a Fountain Hills woman reported she had given personal information to a phone caller and within a couple of days there were unauthorized charges on her bank card.

*On Thursday, Feb. 5, a resident reported items stolen from their vehicle that was parked in a storage yard in the 12000 block of Colony Drive. Property valued at $820 was taken.

*On Friday, Jan. 9, a woman reported her ex-boyfriend had used her credit card information after he was released from jail for burglarizing her residence in the 12000 block of 152nd Street in Maricopa County.

*On Friday, Feb. 6, a Fountain Hills woman reported her son had punched her during an argument after she told him to leave her house. The son was not immediately contacted, but faces potential charges of domestic violence assault and domestic violence disorderly conduct.

*On Friday, Feb. 6, deputies received a report from personnel at the Safeway store that a male subject had left the store with a cart full of groceries. He left quickly, loaded the groceries in a vehicle in the parking lot and left.

*On Friday, Feb. 6, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had used his credit card information without permission to make purchases on line.
